Accounts Receivable Specialist - Manufacturing (Chicago NW Suburbs)

Location: Chicago Northwest Suburbs, IL

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 base

Our client is a global manufacturer of precision industrial equipment. As Accounts Receivable Specialist, you’ll own invoicing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation for a customer base that includes equipment sales, parts, and field service, working closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance.

What You’ll Do

• Generate and send customer invoices for equipment, parts, service, and freight, and process credits, returns, and rebills
• 
  
• Apply customer payments accurately and keep account records clean and current
• 
  
• Work the aging report: follow up on past-due balances, resolve disputes, and bring DSO down
• 
  
• Reconcile AR to the general ledger, prepare journal entries, and support month-end close
• 
  
• Review customer payment history and credit to support credit decisions
• 
  
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service to fix billing issues at the source, and support audits as needed
• 
  
• Spot process gaps and help tighten controls and efficiency in the AR function
• 
  

What You Bring

• 
  
• 5+ years of accounts receivable experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• 
  
• Hands-on collections experience, comfortable with direct customer calls and dispute resolution
• 
  
• Experience with AR to GL reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end close
• 
  
• ERP experience and strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
• 
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or equivalent AR experience
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle priorities around close
•

• Billing experience for capital equipment, field service, or parts

• Experience with international customers or foreign currency payments
