Position Location:
This position is located onsite in Charleston, South Carolina.
Job Overview:
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Command Awards Program. Responsible for maintaining award tracking systems, processing award documentation, managing electronic records, preparing correspondence, and supporting award-related activities, retirement packages, and length of service recognition programs.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:
- Maintain and update award workflow tools and tracking systems.
- Track award nominations and provide status updates throughout the review and approval process.
- Update external award information, nomination deadlines, and sponsor due dates.
- Monitor the Awards Functional Tool and prepare status reports.
- Review, draft, and print award-related correspondence, certificates, and recognition documents for proper format, grammar, and accuracy.
- Maintain electronic files and records for awards, retirements, and length of service programs.
- Create and maintain electronic folders for award nominations and supporting documentation.
- Verify and communicate award execution within applicable personnel systems.
- Prepare, route, track, and distribute retirement and length of service packages.
- Provide administrative support for award ceremonies, meetings, and training events.
- Monitor award-related communication channels and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

- Review award-related documents within two (2) business days of receipt.
- Update and maintain award tracking systems daily.
- Monitor award-related communication channels daily.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established timelines.
Job Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Must be a US citizen.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED and three (3) years in administrative support experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain HSPD-12 CAC Eligibility.
- Willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
- Government Contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Products including SharePoint.
Working Conditions:
- Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
- Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
- Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.

- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
