Boutique Fort Worth commercial real estate law firm seeks a proactive administrative assistant to support its transactional practice. The ideal candidate has experience in real estate, corporate law, commercial lending, or a similar field. Because the role includes both billable client work and internal administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will be adaptable, service-oriented, and willing to assist wherever needed.
\nWe are looking for an applicant who is personable, detail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn. The position offers opportunities to assume additional responsibilities and grow with the firm based on performance, initiative, and the firm’s needs.
\nResponsibilities:
\n· Provide support to attorneys, paralegals and legal assistants for acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties, financing transactions and land development.
\n· Conduct initial research for new client matters and provide the results to the supervising paralegal or attorney.
\n· Calculate critical dates for acquisitions, dispositions, lease agreements, and lending transactions and maintain calendar of same.
\n· Proofread legal and banking documents.
\n· Review purchase and sale contracts, leases, and land title documents.
\n· Create and maintain document/task checklists for real estate transactions.
\n· Prepare initial drafts of closing documents under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal.
\n· Maintain up-to-date time reports to ensure accurate client billing.
\n· Maintain electronic matter files per firm procedures.
\n· Submit documents for electronic recording in the applicable public records and track each submission through confirmation.
\n· Assist in the formation of corporate entities and preparation of related documents.
\n· Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
\nQualifications/Competencies:
\n· Prior experience in corporate law, real estate law, commercial lending, or a closely related field is preferred.
\n· Strong ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
\n· Advanced Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
\n· Ability to learn new software programs.
\n· Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and move quickly from one assignment to another and take responsibility for projects from inception to completion.
\n· Effective time management skills.
\n· Strong interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy to maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, and outside contacts.
\n· Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
\n· Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a fast-paced environment.
\n· Detail oriented with active listening skills.
\n· Sound judgment, resourcefulness, and strong problem-solving skills.
\n· Consistent follow-through and flexibility in responding to changing priorities and urgent deadlines.
\n· Ability to maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.
\nSchedule:
\n· Full-time, Monday through Friday, eight hours per day.
\n· In-office position.
\nCompensation:
\n· $40,000 annually.
