12-Month Administrative Assistant

Primary Purpose

Under the general direction of the Director of Student Services performs a wide variety of independent and administrative support.

Administrative Duties

Maintains utmost levels of professionalism within the office and school community

Orders/organizes supplies for office and/or school building

Maintains teacher attendance as required

Maintains student records and attendance as required for special education transportation, Out of District programming and Circuit Breaker.

Compiles files and reports as needed for grants, funding and EOY reports and yearly reports required by DESE

Demonstrates technology related skills appropriate to the office needs; creates and maintains spreadsheets for each fiscal year and updates on a regular basis

Performs any accounting task pertinent to office operation; monitors spending in regards to IDEA funds, Circuit Breaker funding, specialized transportation, tuitions, etc

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to report work verbally or in writing to supervisor as required.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Ability to problem-solve job-related issues.
  • Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding school district financial and other information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (minimum)
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred
  • Successful experience as Administrative Support, a minimum of three years.
