Job Summary and Qualifications SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Greets patients/customers promptly, professionally and cordially. 2. Operates computer systems effectively with sufficient knowledge base to avoid errors, entering orders. 3. Answers telephone professionally and efficiently, providing appropriate information to caller. Records accurate messages and distributes in a timely manner. Receives and acts on faxes as necessary. 4. Prepares requisitions for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures by utilizing various computer systems and prepares form for all stat/call results/send films when requested. 5. Utilize skills and knowledge by being proficient in all clerical areas of Department 6. Prepares monthly billing paperwork. 7. Communicates Monthly call schedules & and any changes with call schedules to manager (calling ins for all modalities after hours and weekends). 8. Communicates effectively with Central Registration and assisting in patient workflow. 9. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. 10. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients according to Policy and Procedure. 11. Maintains departmental calendar. Schedules patients for outpatient appointments with the transplant office, central scheduling, and physician offices. Provides notification of appointments and required authorizations to the patient. 12. Collects data regarding patient test results and office visits from locations including HCA hospitals, physician's offices, outside laboratory. Post this information in the patient's electronic and paper record. 13. Maintains patient records to meet regulatory standards including assisting in documentation of reason for visits to assist in coding to facilitate the billing process. Completes filing and faxes records to referring physician offices. 14. Maintains departmental supplies, i.e. office supplies and educational material for patients.
