The position is located in the Department of Medicine, Division of Palliative Care. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative, fiscal, grant, continuing medical education and clinical schedules of the Division in support of advancing the College of Medicine’s education, clinical service and research missions. In partnership with the Chief and Assistant Director, the position develops and implements strategic plans and initiatives.

Classification Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and seven years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Job Description:

Programmatic Support
• Attendance at and maintenance of Division meetings, including scheduling participants and space, arranging food, ensuring streaming capabilities are operational, managing sign-in sheets, and preparing minutes.
• Oversight of education activities, including fellowship development and medical student course reporting.
• Oversight of Palliative Lecture Series and coordination of the Annual division CME event.
• Provide Quality oversight of research proposal preparation, including IRB protocols, literature searches, and collaboration coordination
• Function as the institutional CAPC coordinator
• Serve as the administrative liaison with Haven Hospice and other local Hospices
• Complete inpatient schedules and enter into hospital on-call system

Faculty Support
• Provide administrative support to the division chief, requiring the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Assist with processing and tracking faculty leave requests
• Faculty effort coordinator
• Develop recruitment itineraries for faculty candidates

Purchasing and Accounts Payable
• Ensure division purchases are made and processed according to University and Department policy and in alignment with budget.

Strategic Development & Special Projects
• Assist in facilitation resolution of administrative, operational and communication issues between the division and other institutional entities.
• Develop and implement business plans, special projects and strategies.

• Other duties as needed.

Expected Salary:

$21-23/hr

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and seven years of relevant experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or an appropriate area of specialization.
