This position provides administrative support to the Family Empowerment Program from 5:30 to 7:30pm Mondays through Thursdays and on Saturdays as needed.  

 

Essential Job Duties: 

·         Greet all clients, staff, and program visitors in a pleasant and professional manner.

·         Answer telephone calls and route to appropriate parties.

·         Perform clerical duties as assigned, including but not limited to data entry.

 

Other Duties:

·         Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

·         Complete training necessary to perform position.

 

Job Requirements:

·         High school diploma or equivalent experience and education.

·         At least 2 years’ administrative assistant experience preferred.

·         Strong verbal interaction skills.

·         Ability to put people at ease and handle difficult interactions when necessary.

·         Ability to operate multi-line switchboard using headset.

·         Ability to multi-task.

·         Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.  

·         Basic clerical skills.

·         Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients, and the public.

·         General mathematical skills.

·         Ability to independently complete tasks with limited supervision.

·         Ability to interact with clients with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics in the service population.

 

Environment:

·         Majority of work is in a typical office environment.

·         Position is a front desk position in an open area near the front door and accessible to employees, donors, clients and the general public.  Environment at times may be noisy and require receptionist to deal with emotional persons.

 

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Ability to:  sit, walk and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and hear and see within normal limits and close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

·         Ability to type and perform other office skills.

·         Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

·         Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
