After School Teacher - K-1st Grade

Do you love Christ, love children, and want to make a positive difference in the lives of elementary-age kids?

Good News Children’s Center is looking for a caring, dependable After School Teacher to lead our K–1st grade group.

This is a great opportunity for a college student pursuing education, early childhood, ministry, or a related field to gain hands-on experience working with children while enjoying an afternoon schedule that fits well around many college classes.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, approximately 2:00/2:30–6:00 p.m.

Additional hours may be available on no-school days, during the summer, and as a substitute.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Lead and supervise a group of up to 15 K–1st grade children.
• Create a safe, fun, active, Christ-centered environment.
• Share the Gospel through engaging Bible lessons and everyday interactions.
• Lead games, outdoor play, creative activities, and group experiences.
• Communicate professionally with parents and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Personal Christian faith and desire to be a positive Christian influence.
• Enjoy working with young elementary-age children.
• Dependable, patient, energetic, and able to lead a group.
• Previous experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
