Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a long-term contract opportunity in a hybrid work environment. This role will be responsible for processing and coding utility and corporate invoices, performing weekly check runs, recording manual checks and ACH payments, and maintaining accurate vendor records.

The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience with invoice processing and accounting systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, code, and review utility and corporate invoices.
• Perform weekly check runs and prepare payment reports using Excel.
• Maintain vendor records, including contact information, addresses, and ACH details.
• Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding invoices and payment status.
• Record manual checks and ACH payments accurately.
• Prepare month-end capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expense (OPEX) reports.
• Assist with month-end close activities and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Use Excel features such as pivot tables, filters, and subtotals for reporting and reconciliation.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting procedures and payment deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, filters, subtotals, and reporting.
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems; Enertia and OpenInvoice experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
