Assistant Electrical Detailer – Revit

We are seeking an Assistant Electrical Detailer – Revit to join our client's growing design team in Cary, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with Revit experience who enjoys working on complex telecommunications and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will support planning, design, modeling, documentation, and BIM coordination efforts across a diverse portfolio of projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and model telecommunications systems and infrastructure using Revit and other CAD software.
• Develop physical pathway infrastructure designs for both inside and outside plant environments.
• Create equipment layouts, structured cabling designs, and telecommunications construction documentation.
• Lead the setup and organization of telecommunications Revit models at project initiation.
• Prepare engineering drawings from sketches, markups, verbal instructions, and engineering design information.
• Assist with project assignments involving drawing development, system sizing, problem analysis, and design calculations.
• Produce initial designs, sketches, and drawing revisions with limited engineering oversight.
• Apply applicable design codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Complete design deliverables within established project budgets and schedules.
• Organize, maintain, and track project drawing revisions and documentation.
• Coordinate telecommunications BIM activities with other engineering disciplines.
• Maintain model health, quality, and data integrity for assigned projects.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Support additional project and team responsibilities as assigned.
• Comply with all company, client, and project standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications

One of the following is required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; OR
• Associate Degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; OR
• High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of progressive detailing and design experience.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience developing design deliverables using both 2D and 3D applications.
• Working knowledge of telecommunications design principles, systems, and calculations.
• Understanding of engineering drafting standards, design processes, and construction documentation.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and design technologies.
• Experience coordinating BIM models and collaborating in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Autodesk Revit experience.
• Telecommunications design and BIM coordination experience.
• Experience supporting infrastructure, structured cabling, or technology-focused projects.
