The Assistant General Manager is the leader responsible for setting the standard, building the team, and creating a world-class experience for every guest who walks through our doors. This is not simply a management position; it's a leadership role built around serving others, developing people, executing great systems, and taking ownership of the success of the entire park.
The right person for this role understands that great leadership starts with character. They lead by example, do the right thing even when no one is watching, and hold themselves to the same standards they expect from their team. They are humble enough to serve, confident enough to lead, and disciplined enough to do the hard things necessary to make the park better.
The Assistant General Manager is expected to live out Big Air's core values of Safety, Fun, and Respect in every decision, interaction, and action. They reinforce our commitment to creating Safer, Cleaner, Better fun by establishing an environment where safety is non-negotiable, cleanliness is everyone's responsibility, and the standard is always moving forward.
Lead Through Service
The Assistant General Manager understands that leadership is not about having the title; it's about taking responsibility for the people and business entrusted to them.
They serve their team by providing clear direction, removing obstacles, developing talent, and giving people the tools and support they need to succeed. They are present when their team needs them, willing to jump in wherever necessary, and never view a task as being "beneath" them.
No job is beneath a leader.
Servant leadership does not mean lowering expectations. Great leaders care deeply about their people while also holding them accountable. They coach before they criticize, develop before they replace, and give their team every opportunity to succeed.
Their work ethic, attitude, professionalism, humility, and consistency should set the example for the entire park.
Build an All-Star Team
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for building a team capable of delivering a world-class guest experience. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, developing, recognizing, and, when necessary, de-hiring team members.
They directly lead department managers and help develop the next generation of Big Air leaders. They know their people, recognize their strengths, provide meaningful feedback, and actively invest in their development.
Rather than simply filling positions, the Assistant General Manager builds a team of people who are dependable, hardworking, positive, coachable, and committed to Big Air's mission and values.
A great leader doesn't just create followers; they create more leaders.
Execute & Own the Operation
The Assistant General Manager serves as the primary operational leader of the park and is accountable for the daily execution of company standards.
Big Air has established systems, procedures, and standards designed to create a safe, efficient, and world-class operation. The Assistant General Manager's job is to master those systems, execute them consistently, and build a team capable of doing the same.
We value leaders who think critically and bring ideas forward. The Assistant General Manager is encouraged to identify opportunities, challenge things respectfully, and suggest better ways of doing things. However, the expectation is to understand and execute the existing system before attempting to change it.
You will not be expected to reinvent the business. You will be expected to make the business we have built run exceptionally well.

We are looking for someone who doesn't ask, "Is this my job?" but instead asks, "What does my team and my park need from me right now?" The team will ultimately reflect what leadership models, recognizes, and allows. If we want our team to take ownership, leadership must take ownership first.
