    The Assistant Perkins Grant Coordinator helps ensure compliance grant's required program activities and services. This position is integral to ensuring BRCC’s preparation and consistent maintenance of the internal grant(s) audit process. The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) supports career and technical education at the secondary and postsecondary levels. It improves and expands high-quality programs and aligns them with high-wage, high-demand labor market needs. 

    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    40%  

    ·        Coordinate and communicate with deans, department chairs, and other faculty and staff to ensure that the College meets industry needs for in-demand, high wage, and emerging careers

    ·        Develop a Work-Based Learning initiative that works with regional employers, faculty, and secondary partners to develop internships, externships, apprenticeship, and other work-based learning opportunities for students.

     

     30%

    ·        Assist the Perkins Coordinator to develop and submit budgets for approval and funding

          Assist with retaining records, inventory, requisitions, reports, and other documentation regarding the program.

    ·        Assist with ensuring sufficient funding balance allocations

     

    15%

    ·        Assist in the compilation of data for quarterly reports.

    ·        Coordinate and implement stakeholder meetings and professional development opportunities for career and technical education faculty and staff

    ·        Assist in the scheduling and development of the College's Mobile CTE Lab Unit and coordinate with faculty/staff on its usage

     
    10%

    ·        Attend all required professional development activities related to the Perkins Grant(s).

    ·        Represent BRCC at all Perkins functions.

    5% Other duties as assigned. 

     

    Required Education: Bachelor's degree in education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or related field.

    Required Experience: Three years of experience in education, grant administration, program coordination or career/technical education.

    Associate's degree is acceptable with three years of federal grants management experience and two years of employer liaison experience.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of Federal Grant Compliance and Perkins V Requirements – Proficient
    • Program Development and Coordination – Advanced
    • Employer Engagement and Partnership Development – Advanced
    • Knowledge of Career and Technical Education Programs – Proficient 
    • Data Collection, Tracking and Performance Reporting – Proficient 
    • Interpersonal Communication and Stakeholder Relations – Advanced 
    • Event Planning – Proficient 
    • Written Communication and Documentation – Proficient 
    • Technology Proficiency (Office Suite) - Basic

    Required Licenses or Certifications: Preferred: Certified Workforce Developer or related career/technical education credential.

    Preferred Education: Master's degree in education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or related field.

    Preferred Experience: Knowledge of federal grant compliance requirements, including Perkins V, WIOA, or similar federal education or workforce programs.

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Employer Engagement and Partnership Development experience; Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder relationship skills; Understanding of work-based learning
