Description:

The Department of General Business, Marketing & Supply Chain Management (GMSCM) of the Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Project Management and Process Improvement (PMPI) to begin in Fall 2027.

While being the second-largest university in Houston, the University of Houston-Downtown provides life-changing educational access and opportunities to individuals living in one of the most diverse metropolitan areas in Texas. The MDCOB is accredited by AACSB and enrolls more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The department offers majors, minors, and concentrations in General Business, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Project Management, Process Improvement, Operations Management, and related fields in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities.
• Maintain an active research agenda resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications in relevant disciplines to meet AACSB standards.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
• Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.

Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution.
• Demonstrated record or potential for research excellence and scholarly publication.
• Demonstrated capability for effective teaching at the university level.
• Demonstrated capability for curriculum development, course assessment management, and continuous course improvement.
• Industry certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are preferred but not required.
