The Department of Information Systems and Technology Management at the George Washington University School of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Systems position beginning in Fall 2027. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and an established research record.

Applicants are expected to develop and sustain a high-quality research program leading to publications in premier scholarly journals. Teaching responsibilities will include high-quality courses for undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Business. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and flexibility in contributing to the Department's evolving teaching needs in artificial intelligence, information systems, technology management, and emerging digital technologies.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is part of a broader GWSB cluster hire in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Analytics, which includes faculty positions in Information Systems and Technology Management, Decision Sciences, and Finance. Within this broader initiative, the ISTM Department seeks candidates whose research examines important technological, organizational, economic, or societal questions related to artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and emerging digital technologies. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, generative AI, human-AI interaction, responsible AI, AI-enabled innovation and transformation, and the economic and societal implications of AI. The position is grounded in the Information Systems discipline while encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration across GWSB.

The Information Systems and Technology Management Department offers a collaborative research environment with faculty interests spanning AI, digital platforms and markets, emerging technologies, organizational agility through IT, e-business, and innovation and entrepreneurship. The Department offers undergraduate and graduate programs in information systems and technology management and contributes to GWSB's growing portfolio of AI-focused programs, including the M.S. in Artificial Intelligence for Business (MSAIB).

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field, completed or expected to be completed by the date of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate strong potential for research excellence and publication in premier scholarly journals in Information Systems or closely related disciplines, as well as potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Advertised Salary: $190,000 - $205,000 Other Benefits:
