Description

Our client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their Manhattan-based team and support the delivery of highly detailed, design-driven construction projects throughout New York City. This position is ideal for an APM with experience in high-end residential, luxury retail interiors, or luxury hospitality, who is looking to grow within a sophisticated General Contractor environment.

Client Details

Our client is a well-established Manhattan General Contractor specializing in high-end interior construction for discerning private clients, luxury brands, restaurateurs, and hospitality operators. Their work spans custom townhomes, brownstones, penthouses, single-unit co-op renovations, luxury restaurants, bars, clubs, and lounges. The company is known for delivering highly detailed projects where craftsmanship, coordination, scheduling, and attention to design are critical.

Description

As Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day management of luxury interior construction projects
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, architects, designers, consultants, and clients
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
  • Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, and material tracking
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure timely distribution of information
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes
  • Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and outstanding project items
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to coordinate field activities
  • Assist with identifying and resolving design, procurement, and construction issues
  • Support project closeout and turnover activities
  • Utilize construction management software such as Procore when applicable

Profile

A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:

  • 2+ years of construction/project management experience
  • Experience with a General Contractor is strongly preferred
  • Background in high-end residential, luxury retail, or luxury hospitality interiors
  • Experience with projects such as townhomes, brownstones, penthouses, restaurants, bars, clubs, lounges, or luxury retail spaces
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Procore experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred
