The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an Associate Director of Group Sales to join the only double Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.
The Associate Director of Group Sales is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sustained group revenue performance through proactive business development, strategic decision-making, and the cultivation of long-term client relationships. This role is critical to the achievement of both individual and team revenue goals and requires a deeply committed, highly engaged on-property leader with a proven ability to consistently exceed established objectives. The ideal candidate brings strategic depth, resilience, and a solution-oriented mindset, and thrives in the intensity and pace of high-level group sales within a luxury hospitality environment, approaching each opportunity with long-term vision, diligence, and a genuine investment in the success of the property.
Responsibilities:
- Drive group revenue and growth through strategic leadership, instilling a proactive, business development-driven approach, inspiring the team to actively seek, cultivate and convert opportunities, with a forward-looking approach to pipeline development and market coverage.
- Partner closely with the Director of Sales to define and execute group sales strategies aligned with overall revenue and positioning goals.
- Accountability for results, with a clear expectation to lead by example and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high performance across the group sales team.
- Ability to effectively evaluate opportunities, balancing revenue optimization, displacement, operational feasibility, and long-term client relationships.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, demand patterns, and business mix, enabling confident, data-informed decisions aligned with the hotel's strategic priorities.
- Demonstrate meaningful client engagement through due diligence, curiosity, and analysis- developing tailored, creative proposals and presentations that address client needs with a long-term partnership and loyalty mindset rather than transactional selling.
Qualifications:

- Five (5) years of sales management experience in luxury travel industry. Forbes experience preferred.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills including exemplary written and oral communication skills with impeccable attention to detail and sense of urgency in delivering exceptional customer service.
- Display professional conduct, sound judgement, the highest level of professional integrity, strong work ethic and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external guests.
- Strong knowledge of Delphi and other hotel databases and tools preferred, Microsoft office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is vital.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including extended hours, nights, weekends and holidays is required.
