Role Overview:

We are seeking an HR Communications Associate to join our team. This is a highly interactive junior-level position for a communications professional with exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills who wants to sharpen their craft, learn how to develop and present strategic communications plans, and gain exposure to leaders.

This individual will support the HR Communications team, which serves the communications needs for the companys HR business functions as well as enterprise leadership communications. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate and engaging messaging across multiple platforms. Because much of our work is executive-facing and highly visible, flawless copy is a baseline expectation, and we look for people who use AI tools fluently and responsibly to work faster without compromising quality - and who apply thoughtful human review to ensure accuracy, judgment and accountability.

What Youll Do:

• Support the HR Communications team in crafting and executing strategic communications plans, including drafting and editing copy, preparing presentations and maintaining a team calendar of deliverables.
• Serve as a proofreading and quality checkpoint for the teams output, including emails, intranet articles, presentations, talking points, digital signage and executive messages. Catch errors in grammar, punctuation, usage, names, titles, dates and links; enforce consistency with our style conventions; and edit others writing constructively without overwriting their voice.
• Manage content scheduling and distribution of communications, ensuring alignment with corporate calendars and avoiding overlap with other campaigns. Request and manage homepage calls to action on the intranet to promote HR initiatives.
• Liaise with the Benefits team and external vendors to coordinate targeted communications based on demographic criteria.
• Develop and revise visual assets for emails, digital signage and other internal campaigns, incorporating feedback and optimizing for display formats. Familiarity with AI visual design tools (e.g., Canva) is beneficial.
• Gather, interpret and visually prepare metrics to ensure our communications projects deliver results; this includes collecting and analyzing usage statistics, post-meeting feedback and other employee surveys and data.
• Apply AI tools fluently and responsibly across the communications workflow, including drafting and iterating copy, editing and content optimization, summarization, audience and data analysis, and workflow automation. Verify AI output for accuracy and voice, and help the team test, document and scale practices that work.
• Assist in preparing for quarterly executive and non-executive promotions communications, ensuring readiness and alignment with HR timelines.
• Learn about the HR functions and develop relationships to understand how strategic communications play a role in engaging employees and achieving business goals.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Communications, including Enterprise Communications, Corporate Design, Editorial and the Digital Workplace team.
• Contribute to other special projects and duties as assigned.

What Youll Bring:

• 0-2 years experience in a professional communications role.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to be clear, concise and correct.
• Exceptional proofreading and copy-editing skills. Command of grammar, punctuation, usage and style, with a proven ability to catch errors others miss. Working knowledge of AP style or a comparable style guide.
• Exemplary attention to detail and follow-through; treats accuracy as non-negotiable in a high-visibility, executive-facing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management and organization skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with colleagues across functions and at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, external vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to be both a self-starter and a team player; proactive and performance-driven in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to navigate and thrive in a large, complex organization.
• Flexibility to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements with short turnaround time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required. Familiarity with intranet platforms and visual design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms such as Claude, Copilot and/or ChatGPT) applied to real communications work: drafting, editing, summarizing, research and analysis. Strong judgment about when and how to use AI, including the ability to fact-check and refine output so it meets our standards for accuracy, quality and authentic voice. Interest in helping the team evaluate and adopt new AI capabilities.
• Bachelors degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• Hybrid environment: Office Tuesday through Thursday, working from home Mondays and Fridays.

Candidates should be prepared to submit writing samples and complete a short editing and proofreading exercise as part of the interview process.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $51,500-$65,000

Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Sales bonus eligible: No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
