    Help Shape the Future of Accounting Education

    UWorld is seeking an experienced CPA and accounting professional to join our growing Surgent team as an Audit and Accounting Content Developer.

    In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in U.S. GAAP, auditing standards, and emerging accounting issues to create industry-leading Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses for CPAs and finance professionals. You'll play a key role in helping accounting practitioners stay current on evolving standards while influencing the future direction of Professional education.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys researching complex technical topics, translating them into engaging learning experiences, and serving as a trusted subject matter expert within the accounting profession.

    What You'll Do:

    Drive Content Strategy and Innovation

    • Monitor developments from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
    • Identify emerging trends, challenges, and educational needs within the accounting profession
    • Evaluate market opportunities and recommend new courses or enhancements to existing curriculum
    • Partner with leadership and marketing teams to ensure our content remains timely, relevant, and competitive

    Develop Industry-Leading Educational Content

    • Design, develop, and update CPE courses covering:
    • U.S. GAAP
    • Auditing Standards (GAAS)
    • SSARS
    • SEC Developments
    • Ethics
    • Other key accounting and auditing topics
    • Create engaging learning materials including:
    • Presentation decks
    • Course manuals and chapters
    • Knowledge checks and assessment questions
    • Technical articles and content summaries
    • Ensure all educational content complies with NASBA and applicable CPE standards

    Serve as a Subject Matter Expert

    • Provide technical expertise on complex accounting and auditing matters
    • Collaborate with internal teams to answer customer questions and support educational initiatives
    • Contribute technical articles, blogs, and thought leadership content
    • Support strategic initiatives that enhance the value and reach of Surgent's curriculum

    Optional Teaching Opportunities

    Depending on experience and interest, you may also:

    • Present CPE courses in webinar, live, or self-study formats
    • Engage directly with accounting professionals during training sessions
    • Serve as a primary resource for technical participant questions

    What We're Looking For:

    Required Qualifications

    • Active CPA license
    • Strong technical accounting expertise, including U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
    • Experience researching and interpreting complex accounting guidance
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong project management and organizational abilities
    • Ability to simplify technical concepts for professional audiences

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Public accounting audit experience
    • Experience developing training, educational content, or instructional materials
    • Experience presenting technical content to professional audiences
    • Background in instructional design or adult learning methodologies
    • Experience creating technical publications, courses, or thought leadership content
