Business Analyst (IT) Hybrid

HEPCO is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support our client’s utility applications portfolio. This role combines financial analysis, business analytics, and project planning to support business case development and portfolio performance. Reporting to the Senior IT Program Manager, the analyst will collaborate with project leads, product teams, and business stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business needs.

• Lead the Business Case Challenge Team (BCCT) development process for the portfolio, coordinating project scope, schedules, cost estimates, and anticipated benefits.
• Gather and document business requirements, define functional specifications, and establish reporting and alerting requirements.
• Support project origination by collecting high-level information from project leads and business stakeholders.
• Perform financial and technical analyses, extract data, and monitor portfolio performance metrics.
• Review dashboards and scorecards to track costs, schedules, budgets, and outcomes.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that provide visibility into portfolio performance.
• Develop and evaluate project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Identify process improvements that support IT strategy and improve the customer experience.
• Collaborate across teams to support quality assurance and ensure solutions meet business needs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5–6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in business analysis, project management, portfolio support, or related analytical work.
• Strong financial and analytical skills; a finance degree is not required, and candidates with engineering backgrounds are welcome.
• Ability to use Power BI to locate reports, filter data, and analyze information.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate activities across stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Utilities industry experience.
• Financial analysis experience supporting projects or portfolios.
• Experience using Smartsheet to view and review data.

Pay Range: $63.00 - $68.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
