Business Development Representative plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of the company's market presence within the material handling industry. This individual is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and developing strategic partnerships that align with the company's goals. The role involves market research, sales forecasting, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored material handling solutions to clients. The Business Development Representative will also lead efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, maximize revenue potential, and maintain a competitive edge in the ever-evolving industry.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities and schedule meetings for the sales team.
- Collaborate closely with Account Managers to ensure a seamless handoff of qualified opportunities and support the sales process.
- Research target accounts and identify key decision-makers across warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, and logistics organizations.
- Conduct outbound visits, calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Qualify prospects by understanding their operations, challenges, growth plans, and equipment or warehouse needs.
- Accurately track and document prospect activity, customer interactions, and opportunities within the CRM system.
- Develop and maintain relationships with prospective customers through consistent follow-up and value-driven communication.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging warehouse technologies to identify new business opportunities.
- Assist with lead generation initiatives from trade shows, marketing campaigns, customer events, and inbound inquiries.
- Work with Sales Leadership to develop prospecting strategies and target high-potential industries and accounts.
- As experience and product knowledge grow, independently sell designated product lines such as equipment rentals, warehouse accessories, safety products, and other ancillary solutions.
- Working in a team environment and having responsibility for achieving the company’s sales targets.
