On-Board Engineering is Hiring a Business Development Specialist / Process Engineer in Columbus Ohio!


Position Details:
Position Type: Full-Time
Time Allocation: 80% Business Development and 20% Process Engineer responsibilities based on available projects/ customer demand
Job Location: Columbus, OH (with travel to local client sites)

Compensation: $50 - $60/hr based upon qualifications.

The Business Development role will focus on identifying and developing new relationships in a B2B environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, friendly, trust-worthy, driven, strong work ethic and solution-focused. Experience with lead generation tools to identify qualified prospects is key in this role. The Business Development Specialist will display the ability to quickly prioritize task and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment work environment

Responsibilities: Business Development Specialist 80% Workflow

  • Market research, forecasting and database management
  • Identify and build relationships with prospective customers through phone, office visits, networking events, presentations and negotiations
  • Collaborate with internal OBC leadership to ensure current and potential customers receive an effective representation of our value-propositions
  • Effectively manage time to meet minimum daily metrics and deadlines


Responsibilities: Engineering and/or Facilities Management 20% as applicable, based on project demand

  • With your extensive experience in engineering, you will guide and oversee aspects of process design, improvement, and troubleshooting
  • Your expertise in process simulation, equipment sizing, and optimization will contribute to increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved safety
  • Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • You will be identifying, cultivating, and supporting new customer relationships in Ohio.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering, mathematics, science, or a related technical discipline preferred
  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering, facilities maintenance, process optimization, troubleshooting, or workforce/staffing solutions
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive business relationships, including with senior-level management
  • Outgoing, dynamic personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license required


Other Requirements :

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.. without sponsorship
  • Drug, Background, and MVR screening required


Physical Requirements:

  • Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as fire-retardant clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots
  • Day-to-day physical requirements involve standard office activities including sitting/standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs frequently, etc.
  • Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking up stairs. Employee will need to climb up the stairs up to the 2 nd and as high as the 10 th floor of the operating buildings up to 1 to 3 times per week. Conducting walk downs and walking to the operating areas will require walking 200 to 1200 yards on some days of the week. Employee will need to bend over and reach over their heads to verify instruments, wiring, connections and control systems in the field.
  • Assignments may require conducting plant walkdowns and wearing chemical plant or refinery PPE to include eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, steel toed shoes, chemical resistant gloves and FP coveralls.
