Business Development Specialist

Responsibilities

The Business Development Specialist provides support for business development activities through research, CRM management, event coordination, marketing support, and client engagement activities. This is an entry-level developmental role designed to build foundational business development skills while gaining exposure to ECS services, markets, clients, and business development processes. The Business Development Specialist works closely with senior staff to support growth initiatives while demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Assists with identifying and researching leads for new work and proposal leads, lunch and learns,

and other business development tasks

• Learns to use ECS systems in the coordination of business development tasks
• Interacts and collaborates with staff members on a variety of business development tasks
• Attends business development meetings
• Assists with business development strategic plans and budgets
• Assists with identifying, tracking, and coordinating conference, industry, and award opportunities
• Consults with your supervisor to help prioritize tasks daily
• Assists with supplying content and coordination of email, social media, marketing campaigns, website, and industry conferences
• Assists with market research to understand the markets and industries we serve
• Assists with maintaining and updating databases
• Assists with additional research, administrative tasks, and/or special projects as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 0 years of related experience

• High school diploma or GED required

• Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field is preferred

• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required

• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)A

• Excellent oral & written communication skills

• Dependable, self-motivated, responsible, and detail-oriented

• Ability to work effectively in teams, with clients, peers, and supervisors, as well as independently

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Limited understanding of general business development processes including research, planning, promotion, and evaluation.

• Limited decision-making skills

• Limited level of understanding of prioritizing and urgency of work in the consulting industry

• Work with supervisor to understand priorities and urgency of work

The expected pay range for this role and location is $25-$28/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
