This role is ideal for professionals who take pride in ensuring construction is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and industry standards.Minimum Qualifications Inspector: Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience, including at least 1 year in bridge and/or roadway constructionBattered pile driving experienceHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordKey Responsibilities Perform inspections of bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirementsMonitor contractor operations, workmanship, and materials for quality and adherence to project standardsMaintain detailed daily inspection reports, including documentation of work progress, quantities, and field conditionsConduct field sampling and testing of materials in accordance with FDOT and project requirementsIdentify and document construction deficiencies and coordinate resolution with the project teamReview and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawingsCommunicate effectively with the CEI Senior Inspector, Project Administrator, contractor, and client representativesEnsure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe work environmentAdditional Responsibilities (Senior Level) Coordinate and oversee activities of CEI Inspectors and Inspector AidesPerform complex technical assignments and engineering computationsAssist with construction layout, field measurements, and verification of quantitiesServe as a liaison between project stakeholders, including client, contractor, and CEI teamProvide input on constructability, sequencing, and field condition evaluationsSupport project administration with production tracking and staffing coordinationPreferred Certifications CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level ICTQP Pile Driving InspectionCTQP Asphalt Paving Levels I & IICTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I (Level II preferred for senior)FDOT Intermediate or Advanced MOTFlorida Stormwater, Erosion & Sedimentation Control CertificationNuclear Radiation SafetyCTQP Final Estimates Level ICTQP Drilled Shaft InspectionFDOT Critical Structures Construction Issues Course (Bridges)Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilitiesAbility to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and standardsKnowledge of FDOT procedures and bridge construction practicesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently in the field and as part of a teamStrong organizational and documentation skillsWhy Join MAE?
