Overview

The Chief Financial Officer will serve as the senior-most finance leader, owning full financial strategy, planning, and operations while playing a central, hands-on role in IPO readiness and execution. As the organization moves toward a public-company transition, this role requires a CFO with direct, demonstrated experience leading an organization through an IPO — not just supporting one. The CFO will partner closely with the CEO and board on enterprise strategy, capital markets positioning, and investor relations, while also owning the internal financial operations, accounting, controllership, and reporting functions that a public company requires. Experience in MedTech, Medical Devices, or Diagnostics is preferred; biotech experience is not a fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Own overall financial strategy, planning, and performance for the organization, both pre- and post-IPO.

• Lead the organization through IPO readiness and execution, including financial reporting infrastructure, governance, controls, and public-company preparedness.

• Lead FP&A function, including financial planning, forecasting, and long-range strategic decision support.

• Own treasury strategy, including cash management, liquidity planning, and capital structure.

• Oversee accounting, controllership, financial reporting, and audit processes, ensuring public-company-grade rigor.

• Lead capital markets strategy and investor relations, serving as a primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and the board.

• Partner with the CEO and board on strategic decision-making, including growth initiatives, M&A, and investment planning.

• Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and financial regulations relevant to a public company.

• Develop financial models supporting valuation, scenario planning, and long-range strategic decisions tied to the IPO and beyond.

• Support strategic transactions, M&A evaluation, and investment analysis as required.

• Build and lead a high-performing finance organization across accounting, FP&A, treasury, and investor relations.

• Present financial performance, risks, and strategic recommendations to the board, investors, and executive leadership.

• Evaluate and adopt AI-powered financial tools to improve forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis efficiency.

Required Experience & Skills

• Significant progressive experience in senior finance leadership roles, including direct CFO-level experience.

• Proven, direct experience leading an organization through an IPO — not solely supporting one — including financial reporting, governance, controls, and public-company preparedness.

• Strong background in FP&A, treasury management, and corporate finance.

• Industry experience in MedTech, Medical Devices, or Diagnostics preferred; biotech background is not a fit.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.

• Advanced financial modeling capabilities, including valuation, scenario analysis, and long-range strategic planning.

• Strong understanding of capital structure, liquidity, treasury, and financial value drivers.

• Experience with public-company readiness, financial controls, governance, and SEC reporting requirements.

• Experience supporting strategic transactions, M&A, or corporate development initiatives.

• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with the CEO, board, investors, and other senior stakeholders.

• Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in managing highly confidential financial information.

Nice to Have

• Experience taking a private MedTech, medical device, or diagnostics organization through a successful IPO from start to finish.

• Experience operating as CFO in a public-company environment following an IPO.

• Direct experience with capital markets transactions, roadshows, and public-company investor relations.

• MBA, CPA, CFA, or another relevant advanced finance or business credential.

• Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance advisory.

• Established network of investor relationships within MedTech, medical devices, or diagnostics.
