They oversee the monthly close process, review financial reporting, and guide a team responsible for maintaining accurate books and dependable financial operations. Working closely with business owners, CAS Managers help turn financial data into insight that supports better decisions. This role blends strong technical accounting expertise with team leadership and meaningful client relationships.If you believe great accounting is about more than closing the books — it's about producing reliable data that business owners can actually use — you may feel right at home here.What you'll do:Apply a controller's mindset to client engagements, ensuring financial statements are accurate, reconciled, and ready for the various recipients of our work — clients, tax preparers, investors, and lenders.Move comfortably between cash and accrual (GAAP) accounting, performing conversions, adjustments, and analysis as required by the client's reporting needs.Work with clients on budgeting, cash flow management, and light financial planning.Manage a portfolio of 20–30 client engagements, overseeing monthly close, financial statement preparation, and the integrity of the general ledger.Demonstrate strong technical proficiency with modern accounting systems and data workflows, efficiently working within platforms such as QuickBooks Online and related financial applications to manage and analyze accounting data.Provide leadership, management, and accountability (LMA) for a CAS team of 2-3 professionals.Manage team resources across engagements to ensure work is completed efficiently while staying within client budgets and service goals.What you should bring:Education and experience requirements:5+ years in accounting work, public accounting experience a plusDemonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting and monthly close processesStrong understanding of both cash and accrual accountingExperience supervising multiple staff membersBachelor's Degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant (preferred)Experience with Excel / Google SheetsExperience with QuickBooks OnlineAbility to work in a remote environment with modern technologyOur ideal applicant:Our ideal CAS Manager is a thoughtful professional who takes pride in producing accurate financial information and helping businesses operate with confidence.You are someone who:Takes ownership of your work and approaches responsibilities with professionalism and disciplineApplies critical thinking to accounting issues and looks beyond transactions to understand the story behind the numbersIs comfortable leading a team, reviewing work, and guiding others toward higher standardsWorks effectively within modern accounting technology and remains curious about new tools and efficienciesCommunicates clearly with clients and colleagues, bringing a calm, solutions-oriented presence to complex situationsValues a collaborative, respectful work environment and contributes positively to the culture of the firmOur core values at WG:Bring your best self.
