The Client Finance Manager serves as the primary finance partner for assigned client accounts, ensuring profitable and transparent client engagements. This role sits at the intersection of financial management and creative enablement, partnering with Media, Strategy, Production, and Creative teams to support smart decision-making, confident pricing, and comprehensive financial oversight of client work.
Responsibilities:
Serves as primary finance partner for assigned client accounts, building and managing scopes, estimates, and budgets across retainers, projects, and production.
Monitors client profitability, ensures accurate revenue recognition, and flags financial risks early with proposed solutions.
Collaborates with Brand and Production teams on scoping and pricing work, participating in client conversations requiring financial clarity or negotiation.
Prepares monthly client forecasts, variance analysis, and translates financial data into actionable insights for agency-wide reporting and planning.
Oversees client billing processes, ensures contracts and SOWs are financially sound, and continuously improves financial processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain financial concepts clearly
Strong client-facing and stakeholder management abilities
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong financial acumen
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail without losing sight of bigger picture
Ability to function well in a high-paced creative environment and remain calm under pressure
Proficient with agency tools and systems including forecasting, time tracking, and financial reporting platforms
Deep understanding of agency economics including retainers, project work, production, utilization, and margin
Strong negotiation and financial decision-making capabilities
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
5-8 years of finance experience in advertising agency, creative studio, or similar environment required
Experience with agency forecasting models and revenue recognition best practices preferred
Experience supporting integrated accounts across brand, digital, social, and production preferred
Required Education and Experience:
Minimal local travel for client meetings as need
