Constantly assessing and monitoring patients' vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.) and responding to any critical changes.
Ensuring the accurate and timely administration of medications, including IV drips, injections, and other treatments, while managing complex medication regimens.
Managing and troubleshooting ventilators, dialysis machines, and other life-support systems to stabilize critically ill patients.
Conducting thorough patient assessments, documenting patient status, care plans, and any changes in condition, while maintaining accurate records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Working closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, communicate critical updates, and coordinate treatments.
Responding to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrests, respiratory failure, or sudden deterioration, providing CPR, intubation, or other critical interventions.
Communicating with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-ICU care, offering emotional support during a highly stressful time.
Assisting with or performing procedures like wound care, inserting central lines, arterial lines, or managing catheters and drains.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited academic institution. (preferred)
Experience
Three (3) years or more of fit test / ICU nursing experience
Experience in Adult ED
Licenses
California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for providers issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
