CNC Lathe Operator - Weekend Shift

Location: Farmington, CT

This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to machine metal, cast aluminum, or plastics parts as needed.

Scan manufacturing orders for labor and machine time reporting.

Follow oral and written instructions while using close vision to read and interpret CAD drawings and manufacturing orders.

Locate suitable CNC Code (or "program") and transfer from the storage location to CNC machine and modify program as needed to meet final machining conditions and inspection tolerances.

Prepare and pre-set all tools needed for machining operations from machine set-up sheets.

Assemble cutting tools into tool holders and position tool holders into the machine tool changer.

Lift or move up to 25 pounds to load tools and workpieces into the machine.

Perform first piece measurements and periodic quality checks as prescribed by the process documentation.

Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, look for ways to improve and promote quality, and offer ideas to improve machine performance.
