Join trak group in partnering with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce precision components in a quality-focused manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for machine setup and operation, tooling selection, CNC program adjustments, dimensional inspection, and troubleshooting to ensure parts meet required specifications and tolerances.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, CAD models, and work orders.
Set up and operate CNC machines, primarily CNC lathes, to manufacture precision components.
Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds, feed rates, and coolant applications based on materials and job requirements.
Program, edit, and troubleshoot CNC G-code as needed.
Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
Identify and resolve tooling problems, material defects, and dimensional inconsistencies.
Perform routine machine maintenance and minor equipment repairs.
Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and job tracking information.
Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and PPE standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Hands-on CNC machining and machine setup experience.
Experience operating and setting up CNC lathes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining specifications.
Knowledge of machining tolerances and quality control practices.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments to verify finished components.
Experience making CNC program adjustments and working with G-code.
Ability to select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Basic machining-related math, geometry, and trigonometry skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to wear required PPE.
Technical or vocational training in machining or a related field.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC controls.
Experience machining precision or tight-tolerance components.
Previous experience performing minor CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
