CNC Programmer Pay: $25–$35/hour Location: Outside of Albany, NY Employment Type: Full-time
Our client is looking for a CNC Programmer responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of CNC programs, toolpaths, post processors, and CNC automation solutions. This role serves as the technical owner of CAM programming, programming standards, and automation technologies, ensuring efficient, consistent, and reliable program execution across CNC machining operations.
Principal Responsibilities
Serve as the technical owner of CAM programming for CNC manufacturing operations
Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs and post processors
Optimize machining toolpaths to improve cycle time, tool life, surface finish, and overall machine performance
Establish and maintain CNC programming standards, best practices, and documentation
Develop and support CNC automation solutions, including macros, probing routines, parametric programming, and other machine-control enhancements
Validate programs through prove-out activities and resolve programming-related manufacturing issues
Implement manufacturing processes and machining strategies defined by process engineering
Identify and implement programming improvements to increase efficiency, consistency, and manufacturing capability
Qualification Requirements
Technical degree, certification, or equivalent experience in CNC programming and machining
Proficiency with CAM software for CNC program and toolpath development
Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, tooling, cutting parameters, and machine controls
Experience developing and implementing CNC automation solutions, including macros, probing routines, parametric programming, and related machine-control technologies
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs, toolpaths, and post processors
