Overview

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Construction Loan Accountant in our Rental Housing Division.

This important role will be responsible for closing construction and permanent loans in coordination with the lending staff and legal department. The Construction Loan Accountant will process monthly construction draws and coordinate title endorsements and wire transfers.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing loan closings and managing the funding of loans from construction closing to permanent conversion
  • Receiving and processing loan fees and refunds
  • Maintaining various loan security instruments and tracking renewals or extensions
  • Reviewing and processing monthly construction draw disbursements and loan closing disbursements for accuracy
  • Coordinating draw funding with internal staff and title agents.
  • Communicating with borrower, title company, and other parties to review Virginia Housing policies and requirements
  • Maintaining and tracking letters of credit and incoming wires, depositing checks and wiring funds

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or similar field or relevant work experience
  • Several years' experience in Accounting functions in the construction industry and/or managing project budgets
  • Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills including attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently without significant supervision and process multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize as needed to meet mission critical deadlines

We have a hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

Hiring Range: $62,000 - $83,500 Background and credit checks will be performed as a condition of employment.
