Construction Superintendent

Location: Star, NC
Compensation: $95,000–$105,000 Base Salary + Company Vehicle + Bonuses + Benefits

An established North Carolina commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial and municipal construction projects.

This is a field leadership position for a Superintendent who can independently run a project from sitework through closeout, manage subcontractors, maintain the schedule, and take ownership of day-to-day jobsite operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from sitework and mobilization through final closeout
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and daily field activities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and drive critical milestones
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings and coordinate upcoming work
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure work meets plans and specifications
  • Maintain quality control throughout construction
  • Enforce jobsite safety requirements
  • Communicate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
  • Identify field issues early and drive solutions
  • Manage punch lists, inspections, certificates of occupancy, and project closeout
  • Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and to the company's quality standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Superintendent experience
  • Commercial general contracting experience strongly preferred
  • Ground-up construction experience required
  • Proven ability to independently manage subcontractors and field operations
  • Experience taking projects from sitework through closeout
  • Strong scheduling, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Municipal, government, education, fire station, or similar commercial project experience is a plus
  • OSHA/safety training preferred
