    The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an experienced Cost Control/ Construction Accountant. Responsibilities include providing the federal client with professional on-site facility, and project management services across a variety of small to large-scale construction projects.  Projects may include space upgrades or modification/ reconfiguration of spaces to meet the mission needs of clients.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Effectively manage an assigned portfolio of projects while addressing challenges
    • Construction cost management, tracking of funds, and Budgeting
    • Financial analysis, economic analysis, report production
    • Project administration, program management, database management

     

     

    Required Experience & Skills

    • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial/government facility construction project management
    • Financial analysis using excel spreadsheets, including formulas and formats
    • Experience with cost controls and financial cost tracking
    • Experience with database software and report production
    • Experience developing and evaluating economic analysis
    • Experience developing and evaluating construction project cost estimates and tracking funds
    • SharePoint Database management and design
    • Ability to pass a “suitability” background investigation is a requirement
     
     

    Preferred Experience & Skills

    • CPA, PMP, and federal government accounting experience highly desired
    • Experience managing complex new construction or major renovation commercial/government building projects with experience managing simultaneous construction and/or building projects
    • Ability to work independently, in groups, and in a stressful environment
     
     

    Required Education

    • An accounting, business, finance, or construction management bachelor’s degree (civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural, etc) from an accredited University recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
