Data Steward - Director

Bank is seeking a Director-level Data Steward to serve as the strategic lead and subject matter expert for our IT, People, and Legal data domains. Operating as a domain leader rather than a coordinator, you will oversee data governance, quality, and architecture from origination to consumption across the Bank's core systems. You will directly manage a team of Data Stewards and Analysts, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Strategic Leadership & Team Management: Serve as the domain leader for Corporate Functions data (IT, HR, Procurement, Legal), managing a team of Data Stewards and Analysts to translate enterprise data policies into actionable management plans.

• Data Strategy & Architecture: Drive the vision for key platforms, define golden sources/systems of record, and oversee the creation, prioritization, and refinement of data requirements alongside technology partners.

• Governance, Metadata, & Quality: Accountable for data lineage, dictionaries, and technical metadata; establish robust data quality controls, and lead the prioritization and remediation of data quality issues.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Actively collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across the organization to understand data requirements, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Experience: Requires 7+ years in a management role (Director/Executive Director level) and 3+ years of dedicated experience in data quality and data management within the financial industry.
