Job Summary
Spa by the Sea is seeking a polished, confident, customer-focused
Spa Receptionist / Concierge who is friendly, assertive, technologically capable, and comfortable working independently in a busy spa environment.
You are the first impression our guests receive and an important part of the experience they remember.
The ideal candidate naturally acknowledges every guest with a smile and warm welcome, confidently answers the telephone while assisting guests in person, manages appointments accurately, and remains composed when several things need attention at once.
This is not simply a front-desk position. Our massage therapists and estheticians depend upon the receptionist to help keep their schedules productive and the spa running efficiently.
Every unanswered telephone call can represent a missed appointment and lost income for both the spa and its service providers.
You should be comfortable answering and placing calls on hold professionally while completing an in-person guest interaction, rather than allowing incoming calls to go unanswered.
You will also help identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience by recommending appropriate spa services, esthetician services, upgrades, and add-ons.
We're looking for someone who can learn software quickly, communicate clearly, use apps and scheduling technology confidently, solve routine problems independently, and understand the importance of accuracy when handling appointments and payments.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and acknowledge every guest entering the spa/gym area
- Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
- Schedule, confirm, modify, and manage guest appointments
- Check guests in and out and accurately process payments
- Learn and confidently use our Booker scheduling and point-of-sale system
- Recommend appropriate services, upgrades, and experience-enhancing add-ons
- Communicate effectively with massage therapists, estheticians, management, and other staff
- Assist with laundry and maintain treatment-support supplies as required
- Help maintain a clean, organized, polished, and inviting spa environment
- Attend to guest needs throughout their visit
- Maintain accurate guest and transaction records
- Multitask effectively while remaining friendly and composed
- Work independently and recognize what needs attention without requiring constant direction
Qualifications
- Previous spa reception/front-desk experience required
- Okay with doing 3-4 loads of laundry per shift daily
- CASH HANDLING standards are strictly enforced
- Privacy and security for all of our guests is a must. FULL CONFIDENTIALITY
- Two or more years of customer-service experience preferred
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Comfortable learning scheduling, point-of-sale, and mobile applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Comfortable recommending and selling services and upgrades
- Able to work independently while contributing to a team environment
