SUNY Potsdam invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of The School of Education and Professional Studies.

The School of Education and Professional Studies at SUNY Potsdam has been preparing educators for more than 200 years and today offers a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs in education, business administration, and kinesiology and human performance.

The School offers baccalaureate degrees in business administration, early childhood/childhood education, adolescence education, physical education, and exercise science, along with several minors, including wilderness education. The School's growing portfolio of online graduate programs includes thirteen M.S., M.S.T., and M.S.Ed. degrees spanning education and management, along with three post-bachelor advanced certificates. Many of the School's education programs lead to initial or professional New York State certification and are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP).

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong academic achievement and effective administrative leadership, including experience building community across programs, departments, and schools and developing successful academic programs that serve a diverse student population.

The Dean supervises all of The School of Education and Professional Studies' faculty members, professional and administrative staff, the Literacy Center, and Center for School Partnerships and Teacher Certification; serves as a primary liaison with The School of Arts and Sciences and Crane School of Music; and serves on the President's Council, Provost's Cabinet, and other college committees.

The Dean oversees the development and assessment of online programs-particularly graduate offerings-by collaborating with the Director of Graduate Studies and the SOEPS Administrative Hub to ensure the quality, growth, and success of the School of Education and Professional Studies' online graduate programs.

The Dean also works with a wide array of external constituents including the School's alumni, PK-12 schools, the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), community agencies and businesses, and other collegiate programs.
