Direct Care Worker

About the Role:
Gentle Shepherd Care LLC is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene support
• Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation to promote safety and independence
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding according to individual dietary needs and care plans
• Administer or assist with medication reminders as directed by care plans
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and errands to maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Monitor and document client health, behavior, and daily activities and report changes to supervisors
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in direct care, personal care, or a caregiving role is a plus
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor
• Reliable transportation and ability to maintain a consistent schedule
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
