This on-site role, with occasional travel, will lead employee and labor relations, guide HR operations, and strengthen the workforce supporting BHN’s continued growth into Central Massachusetts.

    What You Will Do:

    • Lead full-cycle HR operations with Corporate HR, including talent acquisition support, performance management, and benefits administration.
    • Supervise, coach, and develop one to three assigned HR or corporate team members.
    • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and handbook provisions for a 24/7, multi-site behavioral health environment.
    • Coach clinical directors and supervisors on employee engagement, burnout prevention, conflict resolution, and people leadership.
    • Build collaborative union partnerships and advise leaders on contract interpretation and labor implications.
    • Participate in collective bargaining and contract renewals and administer labor agreements consistently.
    • Oversee grievance and arbitration processes to support fair, timely resolutions and continuity of services.
    • Lead employee relations strategy and advise on complex conflict, corrective action, discipline, and performance management.
    • Conduct and document sensitive workplace investigations while maintaining strict confidentiality.
    • Ensure employment-law and healthcare compliance while coordinating background checks, credentialing, immunization tracking, and other mandatory requirements.
    • Align HR strategies with organizational goals and guide leaders on supervision documentation, workplace expectations, and policy interpretation.
    • Analyze turnover, engagement indicators, and workforce trends to identify risks and recommend solutions.
    • Optimize the HRIS, workforce analytics, and approved technology, including corporate-sponsored AI tools, to improve data integrity, workflows, and decisions.

    Who You Are:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; a Master’s Degree or advanced HR certification is a plus.
    • Seven to ten years of progressive HR experience, including five years leading HR teams in behavioral health or healthcare.
    • Five to ten years of healthcare labor-relations experience, including collective bargaining, contract administration, and grievance processing.
    • Broad HR generalist expertise across talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
    • Ability to conduct complex investigations, mediate disputes, and guide corrective-action and performance-management processes.
    • Advanced proficiency with modern HRIS platforms, workforce reporting, and data analysis.
    • Excellent negotiation, conflict-resolution, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust at every level.
    • Strong emotional intelligence, judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage sensitive matters and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work on-site in Worcester and travel frequently to BHN locations across Massachusetts.

    Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000
