Distributor Sales Lead

B&G Manufacturing is looking for an experienced Distributor Sales Lead to join our team in Houston, TX. This position is ideal for an experienced sales or customer service professional with a strong background in the commercial fastener industry who enjoys building customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and helping a sales team succeed.

The Distributor Sales Lead will take ownership of sales activities within an assigned territory while also providing guidance, training, and support to other Regional Sales Representatives.

What Youll Do

• Manage and grow sales within an assigned territory.
• Develop strong relationships with distributors and key customers.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the territory, market potential, B&Gs market share, and competitive landscape.
• Monitor competitors, including their market share, strengths, pricing, and strategies.
• Develop and recommend strategies involving pricing, inventory, freight, and promotions to increase market share.
• Identify opportunities for new business and growth within existing accounts.
• Anticipate customer needs and provide sales forecasts and information to support future demand.
• Provide knowledgeable and timely responses to customers regarding B&G products and capabilities.
• Utilize SAP, Excel, and other sales and business tools to analyze information and support decision-making.
• Provide training, coaching, and guidance to other Regional Sales Representatives.
• Work collaboratively with customers, sales representatives, operations, and other departments.
• Represent B&G Manufacturing in a professional, courteous, and positive manner.
• Serve as a positive influence and resource within the sales department and throughout the company.

What Were Looking For

Required:

• 3-5 years of inside sales or customer service experience, preferably in the commercial fastener industry.
• Strong negotiation and time-management skills.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

• Associates or Bachelors degree.
• Experience with SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience.
• Experience working in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
• Second-language skills are a plus.
