We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer / Engineer to support the design and engineering of electrical systems for complex facilities, including industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, and high-tech environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in power distribution, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies, along with the ability to perform field investigations and develop practical, constructable design solutions.
This role involves supporting projects from initial site assessments and design development through construction, coordinating with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and facility personnel. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, verifying existing site conditions, and delivering high-quality electrical designs that meet project requirements, applicable codes, and construction needs.
Conduct field investigations to verify existing electrical equipment, utilities, system configurations, connection points, routing constraints, and available installation space.
Review existing drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and equipment information to identify discrepancies and determine field verification requirements.
Develop conceptual and detailed electrical designs for power distribution systems, equipment installations, facility modifications, and renovations.
Perform power distribution design, equipment sizing, and related electrical engineering calculations.
Conduct and support short-circuit and electrical coordination studies.
Prepare clear, accurate, and constructable electrical design documents, drawings, sketches, calculations, and redlines.
Ensure designs address installation requirements, accessibility, maintenance needs, operational constraints, and existing facility conditions.
Review vendor submittals, equipment specifications, and technical information to support design development.
Coordinate with CAD/Revit designers, project managers, other engineering disciplines, clients, contractors, vendors, and facility teams.
Participate in site visits, client meetings, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination activities.
Provide construction-phase support, including responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), reviewing submittals, evaluating field conditions, and preparing design revisions.
Manage multiple assignments, maintain project schedules, communicate technical issues, and take ownership of assigned work through completion.
Apply applicable electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices throughout the design process.
