Job Description

As a teacher in the Mashpee Public Schools you will be expected to provide rigorous instruction to the diverse population of students in your classroom; align your teaching to the district and state standards; regularly assess students for learning comprehension and modify your teaching to ensure that students are learning; to provide a classroom that is conducive to the learnings needs of all students, especially students who are learning English and students with disabilities.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Plan and teach classes in grades 9-12 Applied Technology/Woodworking

Deliver curriculum that supports CTE Frameworks for Carpentry

Maintain and inventory equipment

Reinforce and monitor adherence to all shop safety rules, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, and required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Support students with basic woodworking skills, measurements, materials handling, and tool setup

Actively monitor student behavior and immediately address unsafe practices

Conduct visual safety checks of tools and work areas

Provide individual or small-group support to students as needed

Follow all school policies, emergency procedures, and district guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DESE Licensure in Technology/Engineering 5-12 or Carpentry, 9-14

SEI Endorsement

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to work collaboratively

Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Cori and fingerprint clearance are required

REPORTS TO: Principal/Administrator

LENGTH OF POSITION: 184 days, school year (Unit A Contract)

LOCATION: Mashpee Middle High School

SALARY: Commensurate with experience
