Position Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Construction Coordinator
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Construction Coordinator opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:- Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- OSHA 1926 Standards: Conduct comprehensive daily site audits to enforce 29 CFR 1926 compliance. Identify general safety hazards (fall protection, scaffolding, excavation, crane operations, electrical safety, etc.).
- EPA Mandates: Manage site compliance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). Oversee National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, fugitive dust controls, and hazardous waste remediation.
- Authority to Stop Work: Exercise absolute authority to halt any work activity deemed unsafe, non-compliant, or pose an immediate threat to life, health, or the environment.
- Training, Documentation & Reporting:
- Safety Education: Design and deliver technical safety training, site orientations, and specialized briefings on OSHA, EPA, and NRC protocols for all field personnel and subcontractors.
- Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analyses for all near-misses, injuries, and environmental excursions. Formulate and track corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Regulatory Recordkeeping: Maintain safety logs, OSHA 300/300A forms, EPA waste manifests, SWPPP inspection logs, and NRC radiation exposure tracking data.
- Agency Liaison: Represent or support the organization during any unannounced or scheduled inspections by OSHA compliance officers, EPA inspectors, or NRC representatives.
Job Qualifications:- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of dedicated EHS experience within high-risk construction environments (e.g., industrial, infrastructure, or nuclear facilities).
- Required Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Card; active First Aid/CPR/AED provider.
- Preferred Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
- Technical Knowledge: Proven mastery of 29 CFR 1926, EPA Title 40 CFR, and NRC 10 CFR regulatory frameworks. Proficient with EHS management software and digital field auditing tools.
- Leadership: Ability to command authority and influence safety behaviors across diverse subcontractor workforces.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required for drafting technical policies and presenting data to executive leadership.
- The service provider will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.
- Travel Required: 0-5%
