ERTS Operations Manager

Clean Harbors in Norwell, MA or Jacksonville, FL is seeking an ERTS (Emergency Response and Training Solutions) Operations Manager responsible for providing the full range of management and supervision required for the successful performance and completion of projects.

Weekends only- Saturday and Sunday- 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

- Directly responsible for the supervision of staff and performance of daily operations.

- Provide positive leadership.

- Monitoring and tracking employee attendance and performance.

- Complete disciplinary actions when required.

- Enforces all company safety policies and procedures.

- Identify and develop key talent and appropriately manage underperformers to ensure success of all individuals in the department.

- Communicates to employees the company's goals and objectives.

- Responsible to manage workload within operations

- Can directly make operational adjustments as needed.

- Responsible for reviewing and approving SDS's for call center staff for incidentals and incidentals with reporting.

- Responsible for the completion of regulatory reporting on shift.

- Provides day-to-day environmental support to open projects to ensure, compliance with environmental policies, requirements, and procedures.

- Serves as a technical supervisor on matters relating to environmental spills.

- Responsible for oversite of projects assigned to project specialist, including all phases of spill response, working directly with clients to ensure a timely successful spill cleanup, regulatory compliance, client satisfaction with cost effectiveness in mind.

- Accountable for project managers working within project's detailed scope-of-work to maintain strict compliance with contract documents, project schedules, and corporate policies and procedures.

- Oversees contractors in field to determine sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil.

- Accurately log information from client interactions into ALERT systems; update in a timely and accurate manner so that clients can track services, inquiries, and resolution. - Dispatching of contractor for excavation, transportation, and disposal of products.

- Responsible for providing employee training and development.

- Providing and maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction.

- QA/ QC on all ongoing projects.

- Initial and post of Alerts in system.

- Ensure that all SOP and client special instruction are performed and are compliant.

- Communicate effectively to contractors, clients, regulatory officials, etc.…, through both written and verbal communication

- Return all internal and external calls, emails, and facsimiles in a timely manner to ensure that customers' concerns are understood, addressed, and resolved in an efficient and complete manner as possible.

- Maintains professional competency in all aspects of the job.

- May serve on the emergency operations center, as assigned.

- Perform other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor's degree in a related field: Environmental Science, Chemistry, Waste Management, Health, Safety, Emergency Management, (or similar major) or related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

- Minimum 4 years of previous management or supervisory experience in the transportation, logistics or waste industry.

- Direct hazardous material response experience is required.

- Conceptual and practical knowledge of groundwater and soil sampling.

- Have a working knowledge or have the ability and initiative to develop a working knowledge of, OSHA and RCRA, OSHA and DOT Regulations.

- The candidate MUST possess strong time management skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, & ability to manage multiple projects.

- Must be a team player and work to accomplish common goals in the department

- Data entry, excellent written and verbal communication.

- Operations Managers work 12-hour shifts. May include nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Ability to handle a high call volume, in a fast-paced environment dealing with emergency response calls.

- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.

- They must be able to effectively communicate with others, including, clients, employees, and outside professionals.

- Able to orchestrate large volumes of data while meeting critical deadlines.

- They must exemplify professionalism in personal appearance and demeanor.
