Description of Work
The major purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the efficient running of the Superintendents'' office. This position will demonstrate a strong commitment to the School's mission, vision of excellence in education, and welcoming students, their families, faculty and staff. This position will also serve as the Clerk to Eastern NC School for the Deaf Board of Trustees
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position provides secretarial and administrative assistance to the School Superintendent. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate's degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ASL experience highly preferred but not required. Candidates will be required to attend ASL classes that are offered through the School during operating hours.
