About the Opportunity

A leading healthcare services organization is seeking an accomplished Executive Director of Facilities Operations to provide strategic leadership for a large ambulatory healthcare facilities portfolio across Northeast Ohio.

This executive-level role will oversee facilities management operations supporting hundreds of outpatient and ambulatory care locations. The successful candidate will lead operational excellence initiatives, strengthen client partnerships, ensure regulatory compliance, drive financial performance, and foster workforce engagement across a complex healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership for facilities operations across a large multi-site healthcare portfolio.
• Develop and implement scalable facilities management programs that support organizational objectives.
• Establish operational standards and performance expectations across multiple locations.
• Lead organizational initiatives focused on operational efficiency, service quality, and continuous improvement.

Client & Stakeholder Partnership

• Collaborate with executive leadership, operational stakeholders, and clinical teams to align facilities services with organizational priorities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on facilities operations, infrastructure planning, and service delivery strategies.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives and patient care goals.

Facilities & Engineering Operations

• Oversee facilities maintenance, engineering services, asset management, and infrastructure operations.
• Ensure effective management of vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.
• Support facility planning, renovation projects, and capital improvement initiatives.
• Manage construction-related activities and facilities upgrades when required.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, life safety, environmental, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee facility inspections, audits, corrective action plans, and compliance programs.
• Maintain safe, efficient, and compliant healthcare environments.

Financial & Operational Performance

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and financial planning activities.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Drive cost-containment initiatives while maintaining service excellence.
• Support long-term capital planning and asset management strategies.

Team Leadership & Workforce Development

• Lead and develop large, multi-level facilities management teams across multiple locations.
• Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
• Build a culture focused on service excellence, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of facilities management, engineering operations, or related operational leadership experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of leadership and people management experience.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing large, complex, multi-site operations.
• Strong understanding of facilities maintenance, engineering services, and operational excellence principles.
• Experience managing large budgets, forecasting, and financial performance metrics.
• Proven ability to lead large teams across multiple geographic locations.
