Experienced Stylist (Designer) — Full-Time

Lola Hair Studio | Cambridge, MA | 2 Openings | lolahairstudio.com

Have you outgrown your current salon — technically, financially, or both?

Are you fully booked in a suite but spending half your energy on admin, inventory, and marketing — and

wondering why it still doesn’t feel like enough?

Is six figures in four days a week something you want mapped out — not just dangled in front of you?

There’s a chair at Lola with your name on it.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us

$35K–$125K+ Earning Potential — We pay whichever is higher: hourly or commission — so you’re

supported while you grow, and rewarded as your book performs. Six figures in 3–4 days a week isn’t a pitch —

it’s a track record. Ask our team.

A Career Map You’ll Actually Use — Associate Designer Designer Elite Designer Master

Designer Educator / Editorial / Management / Ownership Track. Individualized roadmaps. Real milestones.

A ceiling you control.

World-Class Education — Lola Academy, quarterly formal training, and off-site programs including

Redken NYC. Education is part of the job here, not a perk you have to fight for.

Paid Time Off + Wellness Bonuses — Because great stylists are whole people first.

Daily Mentorship — Learn alongside master-level educators who share techniques, insight, and credit —

freely.

A Culture That Celebrates You — Peer shout-outs, birthday recognition, and anniversary celebrations

woven into 3x/week huddles that open with gratitude, not logistics.

Who We Are

Lola Hair Studio is an award-winning boutique destination salon in Cambridge, MA — a seven-time Salon

Today 200 award winner recognized by the Quality Business Awards. With a team of approximately 12 stylists

and a culture built on education, generosity, and collective growth, Lola is one of the most intentional,

community-rooted salons in the Boston area. We donate 1% of revenue to community causes, host an annual

Cut-a-thon benefiting Boston Children’s Hospital Heart Center, and recycle approximately 95% of salon waste

through our Green Circle partnership. Our mission: “We inspire confidence, courage, and connection through

the beauty of design.”

We Believe

Happy – We bring genuine energy to every client and every team moment — not as a performance, but as a

practice. The right fit shows up for their teammates because they care, not because they’re told to.

Generous – We freely share clients, techniques, and credit. “Better Together” isn’t a slogan — it’s how we

make each other more successful.

Growth Mindset – Skills and income are built. We commit to the learning that makes it possible —

including education on days off. Every unbooked hour is an opportunity.

Brave Leaders – Everyone at Lola leads — themselves, their clients, their teammates. We lean into honest

consultations, own our mistakes, and speak up.

Life Harmony – A six-figure career in 3–4 days a week isn’t a dream. It’s the design. We build careers that

fund real lives.

What You Will Accomplish

First 90 Days: Assimilate into Lola’s culture so fully that your teammates already see you as one of their

own — present in huddles, active on the floor, already functioning like a Lola stylist.

6 Months: Your book has real momentum — existing clients are settled into Lola, new clients are rebooking

consistently, and your earnings are reflecting your effort on the floor.

1 Year: A fully booked schedule with 70%+ rebooking — and a waitlist forming, not an empty chair.

What You Will Do

Serve 6–10 clients per day across cuts, color, balayage, foiling, and specialty services with technical

precision and a personalized touch.

Conduct thorough consultations for every new client — building trust, setting expectations, and

designing a service plan they’ll return for.

Pre-book appointments and introduce retail recommendations naturally at every checkout — not as an

add-on, but as genuine client care.

Engage actively during downtime — assisting teammates, practicing techniques, and contributing to a

teaching-hospital floor culture.

Attend all education programs, Lola Academy sessions, and off-site trainings — including those

scheduled on your days off. This commitment is real, and it’s non-negotiable.

Share clients freely and without friction — because here, the book belongs to Lola, not to any one chair.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You

You’ve outgrown your current salon — or suite life has started to feel more like isolation than freedom —

and you’re ready for a professional home with real community and real growth.

You receive feedback as fuel, not criticism — and you actively seek it.

You show up to education on your days off fired up, because you see it as an investment in your future, not

an inconvenience.

You genuinely believe that sharing clients, techniques, and credit makes everyone — including you — more

successful.

You have a 3–5 year vision for your career, and you want a place where that vision can actually happen.

You understand that downtime is development time — and you lean in every single time.

Essential Experience

2+ years behind the chair in a quality, technique-focused salon environment; a well-trained 2-year stylist

will always outplace a mediocre 5-year one.

Proficiency in cutting, color, balayage, foiling, and dimensional color; corrective color experience a plus.

Experience with curly/textured hair, extensions, or alternative hair solutions (toppers) strongly preferred;

razor cutting coachable.

Natural client relationship skills — thorough consultations, consistent pre-booking, and retail fluency.

Availability for Mon/Tue/Wed + Sat or Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed (Thurs/Fri shifts currently limited; Sunday

opening possible).

Commitment to team participation, ongoing education, and Lola’s standard of polished, 5-star

professional presentation.

Ready to Build the Career You’ve Been Designing?

If you’ve been waiting for a salon that invests in you — technically, financially, and personally — Lola is

it. We have the career map, the mentorship, the education platform, and a team that genuinely roots for

each other. You bring the drive, the craft, and the “Better Together” mindset. Two chairs are open. Apply

today and tell us where you are in your career — and exactly where you want to go.

We’re proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive

environment for all team members.

Employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check — just one of the ways we

maintain a safe, trustworthy, and people-first workplace.
