    Position Overview

    We are seeking a proficient and detail-oriented tax preparer who is experienced in federal and California state tax return preparation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in handling complex individual and small business tax situations and capable of working independently while meeting firm deadlines.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and review 1040, Schedule C, 1120-S, 1065, and state returns, with a strong emphasis on California tax law

    • Conduct client interviews to gather data and clarify tax issues

    • Identify potential tax credits and deductions to optimize client savings

    • Maintain accurate workpapers and documentation for each return

    • Address client inquiries and follow up on tax return status

    • Ensure compliance with federal and California state tax regulations

    • Stay current with tax law updates and apply them appropriately

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal tax returns

    • Valid IRS PTIN

    • Registered as a CTEC Tax Preparer
      or exempt: CPA, EA

    • Strong understanding of California individual and small business tax regulations

    • Proficiency with Lacerte, ProConnect

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • Ability to manage multiple returns in a deadline-driven environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Credentialed as a CPA, EA, or AFSP participant

    • Experience with tax resolution or IRS correspondence
