Description/Job Summary

This position is assigned to the Mailroom for the completion of duplication services and other office tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for the completion of all duplication (copying, binding, collating, etc.,) requests received by the Mailroom from faculty and staff.
  • Monitor duplicating equipment by performing routine and preventive maintenance and notifying Logistics Manager of malfunctions and need for specialized repair.
  • Responsible for the routing of Asset Essentials work orders to the proper department(s) for timely completion of assignments.
  • Serves as a backup to the Facilities Admin Assistant for FMIS requisition entry.
  • Serves as a backup Mailroom Coordinator when required to sort, distribute and/or process ingoing/outgoing campus mail.
  • Provides quality service, information and assistance to employees, students, and visitors.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, students, visitors, and all members of the public.
  • Assumes ownership of service issues and works within scope of authority and appropriate guidelines and resources to meet needs and resolve problems
  • Follows through to ensure that all problems, questions, or complaints are resolved.
  • Addresses disgruntled customers' problems with courtesy, tact, and professionalism.
  • Seeks out customer input to better understand their needs and develops ideas for how to meet those needs.
  • Maintains and continuously develops a working knowledge of the services, operations and/or functions of the department/ work unit in order to provide accurate information and assistance to the customer.
  • Promptly responds to requests and inquiries with accuracy and courtesy.
  • Considers the impact on external or internal parties when taking action or carrying out ones own job responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • One-year related experience

  • Use of computers, scanners, copiers, faxes, mail machines, carts, hand trucks and tools.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, and waste. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, push, pull equipment use arm leg and back muscles for extended periods use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls reach with hands and arms climb, stoop kneel or crouch, talk or hear and taste or smell
  • The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and or move up to 75 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • AA Degree in a related field.
  • Five years' related experience and or training in supply management and inventory control.
