Finance/Accounting Manager

PacifiCorp is seeking customer-centric candidates to grow and sustain our commitment to a culture of customer service excellence, environmental sustainability inclusion & belonging. General Purpose The finance and accounting manager leads the preparation of financial and business analyses, supporting key areas including: O&M expense, capital expense, business planning, workforce, regulatory filings and discovery, general accounting, month-end close activities, and business support for internal client organizations. Provides strategic guidance to senior leadership and business partners. Manages priorities and workload for a team of financial analysts, and oversees their performance through coaching, mentoring, and supervision.

Responsibilities Lead analysis and interpretation of actual financial results, short-term forecasting, and reporting for O&M expenses at generation facilities and support organizations, capital project expenditures, and workforce levels. Oversee the development of long-term O&M and workforce projections in support of the business planning process, including consolidation and reporting efforts. Provide financial, analytical, and general business support to internal client organizations. Manage general accounting and month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, cost allocations, general ledger reconciliations, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Support the preparation of financial data for regulatory filings submitted to state and federal agencies. Support financial analysts in working with department managers to develop financial targets and assist client organizations in delivering against established targets. Oversee development and maintenance of reliable, efficient, and accurate business reporting tools. Direct special projects and financial studies. Perform other duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals. Coach, mentor, and supervise a team of financial analysts.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of seven years directly related experience. A minimum of three years of managerial or functional management experience. Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program, or process. Leadership and teamwork skills to provide input into policy decisions, and to mobilize resources to produce desired business results. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate team members. Solid understanding of internal controls, familiarity with financial reporting, and an instilled commitment to accurate on-time completion of monthly departmental tasks and responsibilities. Preferences Advanced degree and/or CPA designation. Knowledge of FERC reporting standards and requirements. Experience with SAP and/or Oracle in an accounting or financial reporting role. Familiarity with the financial drivers and operational processes of electric generation facilities.
