Are you ready to lead financial planning and analysis for one of Amazon"s most innovative healthcare initiatives? We"re looking for a Financial Analyst I to support and drive FP&A mechanisms for Amazon One Medical in a dynamic matrix environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape financial processes that align with Amazon standards while supporting a rapidly evolving healthcare business.

In this position, you"ll lead month-end close processes, prepare comprehensive financial reports, conduct leadership reviews, and coordinate with Amazon Health Services (AHS) FP&A for planning and reporting. You"ll be instrumental in translating business strategy into fiscally sound long-term financial plans, serving as the foundation for annual and 3-year planning exercises. This role requires someone who maintains constant curiosity about business fundamentals and input drivers to effectively audit whether inputs translate to financial outputs.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive long-range financial planning for the business, translating strategy into fiscally sound plans that guide annual and 3-year planning exercises for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and analyses that deliver insights for operational and growth business decisions, challenging assumptions when necessary.
  • Lead FP&A mechanisms for Amazon One Medical, including month-end close support, preparation of monthly financial reports and bridges, and coordination with AHS FP&A for downstream stakeholder reporting.
  • Identify opportunities and implement process improvements to match Amazon standards, ensuring reporting alignment between AHS FP&A P&Ls.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic guidance, creating structure around complex financial challenges and translating them into actionable insights.

A day in the life

Your typical day begins with reviewing financial data and key performance indicators for Amazon One Medical. During month-end close, you"ll analyze financial results, prepare variance reports, and develop insightful bridges that explain performance trends. You"ll lead financial reviews with leadership teams, clearly articulating complex financial concepts and providing strategic recommendations. Throughout the day, you"ll collaborate with business partners to understand operational drivers, audit financial inputs, and coordinate with AHS FP&A teams to ensure alignment across reporting structures.

About the team

The Amazon One Medical Finance team operates in a collaborative matrix environment, partnering closely with both healthcare professionals and finance experts to support Amazon"s growing healthcare initiatives. We"re focused on building financial processes that scale with our business while maintaining alignment with Amazon"s broader financial structures. Our team values analytical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and financial innovation.

As we continue to expand Amazon"s healthcare offerings, we"re committed to developing fiscally sound strategies that enable business growth while maintaining financial discipline. We encourage constant curiosity about business fundamentals and focus on translating complex healthcare operations into clear financial insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
